Sanguine

Merriam-Webster defines sanguine as confident; optimistic.

I've always been more of a "glass half empty" kind of person. Maybe it comes from being a habitual planner and list maker - you know, as in I like to be prepared for anything no matter if it's good or bad.

Our peacocks are the complete opposite; they're full of optimism and confidence. It doesn't matter if they've just molted out every last feather they have, they still display and show off for their girls as if they had a train full of long, gorgeous feathers. Now, that's confidence.

They look a little odd now with their train feathers just beginning to grow back in, but by next spring they'll be the handsome (and amorous) boys they usually are.

By the way, the peacock pictured is Osiris, our other blue male. He's the shyest of the two, and this is the first time he's ever allowed me take a picture of him displaying. So, yay for Osiris!
