After a week of nothing but rain (which we didn't even need), we have finally had a little sunny weather (albeit very humid from all that rain) the past two days. Yay! Or at least it was sunny until a few minutes ago, when it started storming. . . darn :(
Dark clouds have been looming threateningly over us all day and there was a 50% chance of rain for this afternoon (I think it's now safe to say 100%).
So while we could, earlier today, Verity and I grabbed the chance and set out on one of our walks. There was still a little water standing in places around the pond, but if Verity didn't mind, then how could I? ;)
Yesterday, we took advantage of the rainless (is that a word. . . if it isn't, it sure needs to be) day and set out 13 clearance plants (you know me, I love clearance sales, and honestly, I didn't realize how many I'd bought til yesterday) One was a 6 ft tree - just like the ones we already have planted around the pond - for only four dollars and some change. . . good deal, huh?). But it needed a little protection from the goats for now, so my father took care of that today:
Not before a few leaves went missing, but it should be all right.

We've had boiling hot weather in the UK for the past week or so and it's due to stay this way for a while. Could you send a bit of your rain our way please Shell.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we switched weather for a while lol. I had read about y'all's heat wave, & I feel for you with weather like that. Heat waves and lots of humidity are no fun. Meanwhile, we've had so much rain this month, I'm surprised we haven't floated away ;)
